A Letter from Dr. Dwyane Wade Sr

Dear Friends and Family,

I hope this letter finds you well. I’m Dwyane Wade Sr., reaching out as a husband, father, Grandpa, and friend with a heartfelt request for your support. Excitingly, my son, the NBA Hall of Fame recipient, Dwyane Wade Jr., and my accomplished daughter, the Honorable Dr. Tragil Wade, are joining me in a united family effort to support our philanthropic endeavors.

Originally planning a charity golf tournament to restart my annual ProPops Foundation, Inc., a 501-3c basketball camp and clinics, unforeseen challenges like COVID and a personal health crisis slowed us down. Nevertheless, we’re back, stronger as a family. A call from Tragil expressing her desire to collaborate with my charity golf event and her suggestion to involve her brother sparked an idea. Now feels like the perfect time to give back to them and express my pride in their contributions not only to our nation but to children worldwide.

Each of my children embodies the spirit of giving, a testament to our family legacy—a legacy I envisioned and prayed to build. Today, I invite you to join us on the green with your favorite Hall of Fame family. Together, let’s make a difference by supporting underserved youth and mothers. We’re working to raise awareness and resources for our mentorship and sports programs, creating a positive impact on the lives of those who need it most. Your support means the world to us, and we’re excited about the positive change we can achieve together. We are coming up on our 10th year at ProPops Foundation, but it is our first time on the green with friends. I hope to see you there.

Youth and Family

We are excited to offer a one-hour introductory experience for beginners, free of charge, to our sponsored golfers’ family members (one per person). Please note that the cost of lunch is not included.

This initiative aims to promote camaraderie among participants and provide an opportunity for families to bond over a shared passion for golf. We strongly believe that creating inclusive opportunities like this strengthens family dynamics and fosters a sense of belonging within our community.

Moreover, we are committed to promoting accessibility to golf for all, regardless of socio-economic background. As a result, we will be extending invitations to 50 underserved youth, providing them with the opportunity to learn and play golf at no cost. Your generosity will not only introduce these young individuals to a new sport but also open doors to a world of possibilities, enriching their lives and shaping their futures.

Your support is essential in shaping the future of our youth and building a community where every child has the opportunity to thrive.
